Who We Are, And What It Means For You

If you're new here, this page explains what Venture Built actually does, what a "venture" even is, and the three different ways you can get involved, however far along you are.

We help ambitious people turn real problems into scalable ventures.

Starting at OAU, we bring together student builders, practical learning, and the mentors and partners who can help them go further. No equity. No fees. We're not here to teach theory, we're here to help you build something real.

Who This Is For

If any of these sound like you, you're exactly who we built this for:

Hackathon builders Designers Product people Entrepreneurs & technopreneurs Developers & engineers Problem spotters Business owners going bigger The simply curious

Never built anything before? Start in the Club. Already testing an idea or running something small? The Cohort will push it further. Just want to stay close to people building? The Community is open to you too.

What even is a "venture"?

If you've never built anything before, here's the short version, no jargon.

A venture is just a solution to a real problem.

Someone, somewhere, is struggling with something, getting to campus, finding a tutor, getting paid on time. A venture is any idea, product, or business built to actually fix that, for enough people that it can grow.

"Startup" means the same thing.

You'll hear "startup," "venture," and "company" used almost interchangeably. We use "venture" because it captures the whole journey: finding the problem, building the fix, and growing it into something that lasts.

You don't need an idea to start.

Most founders don't begin with a perfect idea. They begin by paying attention to problems around them, then testing small fixes until something works. That's exactly what we teach.

"No equity, no fees" means exactly that.

We don't take a stake in anything you build with us, and we don't charge you to be here. We make money by connecting strong teams to mentors and partners later, once there's something worth connecting.

Three Ways In

Cohort. Club. Community.

Each one serves a different stage of the same journey: turning what you know into something real.
